AS 332 Super Puma helicopters, produced by Aerospatiale, are a favorite for the transportation of people and cargo to off shore oil platforms. In addition they are used as water bombers, VIP transports, by the United Nations and the military of nations throughout the world.

The AS 332 features a roomy cabin that can be configured as a utility or executive transport. The helicopter has large cabin windows, can operate from areas inaccessible to fixed wing aircraft, all the while providing the comforts of a business jet. Super Puma helicopters have low noise and vibration levels and a relatively long range. Its powerful engines permit warm temperature and high altitude operations.

The AS 332 can be equipped with emergency flotation bags to permit water landings. Streamlined fairings house the retractable landing gear that have been reinforced to operate on unimproved surfaces. The helicopter is equipped with with fiber glass composite rotor blades for strength and light weight. A large fin at the underside of the tail helps to increase directional stability at higher speeds.

The AS 332 Super Puma has seen limited use by the U.S. Forest Service. In addition to being equipped with a belly tank for water bombing, the helicopters have been used to transport blaze fighting crews. The Belgian P.D. uses the AS 332 for patrol duties. In Singapore the helicopters are used for search and rescue.

The AS 332 Super Puma is used in 25 countries around the world as the primary helicopter transport for their heads of state.
