Grumman EA-6B Prowler
Grumman EA-6B Prowler

The Grumman EA-6B Prowler has been the mainstay electronics warfare aircraft of the U. S. Navy since 1971. It was developed from the A-6 Intruder.

The U.S. Navy used the Grumman EA-6B Prowler as its tactical jamming airborne platform. It is launched from aircraft carriers to perform missions against multi-wave airborne radars and transmissions.

The Grumman EA-6B Prowler was adopted for use by the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Marines in 1994.  It was used for all electronic countermeasure missions by the U.S.A.F.

Newer generations of the aircraft, which have received four upgrades since their first deployment, are capable of electronic surveillance.

The Grumman EA-6B Prowler has seen action over Vietnam, during Operation Desert Storm, Bosnia, Yugoslavia, and most recently during the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Prowler aircraft were retired from active duty in early 2015. A total of 170 Grumman EA-6B Prowler were produced.

The Grumman EA-6B Prowler for sale from Kyosho has a 28" wingspan and a 29" length.  The RTF Includes a brushless motor driving a 55 mm, five blade fan and a motor controller. All up weight is from 15 to 16 oz.

There is a Grumman EA-6B Prowler EDF 2 channel radio control airplane with a 27" wingspan. It is sold at some retailers and doesn't look very impressive.

We received the following email:
"The pictures on the airplanes on your page are of an Intruder not a Grumman EA-6B Prowler. There is a blurry photo that looks sort of like a Grumman EA-6B Prowler, but the other ones shown are definitely not. The difference is the Intruder has one cockpit with two seats and the Grumman EA-6B Prowler has two cockpits with 4 seats among a lot of other things. Thank you for writing Kyle. We are sure that our readers will appreciate the information.
