The Eurocopter EC225 Super Puma is the latest version in a line of utility helicopters that dates back to the mid 1960's. It is larger than its predecessor, with more powerful engines, and its cockpit has been redesigned to arrange controls logically, within easy reach of its crew.

Eurocopter markets the EC225 as a luxury transport helicopter, capable of comfortably carrying up to twelve passengers in its large air conditioned cabin, that can be equipped with kitchenettes and spacious toilet facilities.

As a passenger transport, the EC225 can comfortably hold 19 seats.

The EC225 is also being used for search and rescue work. It can be equipped for all weather day/night flying, including icing. Its cabin can hold up to three stretchers.

The EC225 can quickly convert to a water bomber, with a tank capable of holding over 1,050 gallons of water that can be filled in about 1 1/2 minutes.

With a 10,472 lb. sling load, the EC225 is capable of lifting and cable laying operations.

To date over 100 Eurocopter EC225 Super Puma helicopters have been produced.
