We received the following review of the NitroPlanes rc F-15 from Gary Goodman:
"Delivery of the rc F-15 from NitroPlanes took less than a week, perhaps because I'm located in Southern California, the same as NitroPlanes.
The rc F-15 arrived in good condition, packed inside a sturdy box. I checked the contents against the parts list and found everything there with no damage.
The motors, servos, and all the electronics are already installed, saving some time.
The rc F-15 goes together quickly and easily. I began assembly with the tail section that I glued together. Next came the attachment of the wings, then the nose and canopy.
I checked the balance both fore and aft, plus laterally. Everything was right on. The controls all worked properly and there was no binding. On to the flying field.
At the field I did a radio check and made sure that the rc F-15 taxied straight. All was fine. I set the rc F-15 at the end of the runway, facing into a light breeze. After a nice straight run of about 60
feet, the rc F-15 was light on the landing gear. I pulled back slightly on the elevator and it beautifully climbed into the air. While the rc F-15 didn't climb like a rocket, it was rock steady in flight.
Although the controls had lots of movement dialed in, I used exponential so that they were not overly sensitive. Very scale-like flight was attained at about 2/3 throttle.
I took the rc F-15 up "two mistakes high" to get an idea of her handling. First I slowed the rc F-15 down to about 1/3 throttle,
where it seemed to hang in the air. I slowly added up elevator to get an idea of its stall characteristics. The rc F-15 finally fell off by dipping a wing. After losing about 35 feet in altitude,
adding opposite aileron and rudder, plus power, I regained straight and level flight. With this airplane it is best to keep the speed up.
Next I decided to try some high speed aileron rolls. They were exceptionally quick, while the rc F-15 didn't lose any altitude. Loops were not as big as I had hoped, needing full power and a little dive before the start to keep the rc F-15 from falling off at the top.
On the next pass I rolled inverted. The rc F-15 didn't need any elevator correction to maintain level flight. It looked terrific!
After wringing out the rc F-15 for about six minutes, it was time to land. I decided for a long, straight-in approach, at a comfortably fast
speed, until just over the end of our long runway. The rc F-15 settled onto the runway for a straight roll out with no problems.
In conclusion, the rc F-15 from NitroPlanes looks great in the sky, and can perform excellent scale-like maneuvers. My only recommendation is to go with more powerful motors, if you want the vertical performance of the actual aircraft."
Thank you, Gary, for all the great information on the rc F-15 from NitroPlanes.
