The Short Bomber, manufactured by the Short Brothers, had the longest wingspan of any single engine biplane.

Short Bomber aircraft, flying sorties for the Royal Flying Corps, and as torpedo bomber seaplanes for the Royal Naval Air Service, saw action during World War I. They were deployed in 1916 and flew missions through mid 1917 when they were replaced by faster twin engine bombers.

A total of 83 Short Bomber land based aircraft were built, and 936 Short Bomber sea planes were built as the Type 184.
